SOUTHFIELD, Mich. - The Lawrence Technological University women's soccer team will honor the senior class on Saturday, October 22 before their match with Lourdes (Ohio) University. Lawrence Tech will be celebrating four seniors, Celeste Scott, Sarah Britain, Nicole Propst, and Heather Derstine.
Scott has played in 36 games over her career, starting three of the nine games she has appeared in this season. She scored the first goal of her collegiate career during this year's contest with Cincinnati-Clermont on September 9.
Britain has played in 50 games during her four years as a Blue Devil starting nine games this season. She records four goals and six assists, two of which came during her senior year. She was named to the 2015-16 WHAC All-Academic Team as well as the 2015-16 NAIA Daktronics Scholar-Athlete Team.
Propst has participated in 53 games while wearing a LTU jersey, starting all 14 games in 2016. She has notched 21 goals and six assists. Seven of her goals have come during her senior year against Roosevelt (Ill.), Purdue Northwest (Ind.), Cleary (Mich.), Rochester (Mich.) College and UC-Clermont (Ohio), during which she tallied three to power the Blue Devils to a 10-0 win. Propst also earned a WHAC Offensive Player of the Week honor this season.
Derstine has played in 60 games while a Blue Devil, including ten starts as a senior. She has amassed 441 saves over her career, while allowing 125 goals to give her a 77.9% save percentage. Derstine has recorded 11 shutouts and on two separate occasions (2013 and 2016) has been named WHAC Defensive Player of the Week. This year's honor was awarded as result of back to back shutouts versus conference opponents Marygrove (Mich.) College and #19 ranked Siena Heights (Mich.) University.
The Blue Devils look to get back on the winning track after a disappointing 4-0 loss to Concordia University on Wednesday, October 19. Danae Dicicco and Ally Nyboer each recorded two shots on goal in the match to pace Lawrence Tech. Derstine was in net for LTU, finishing with eight saves.
Lourdes enters this match with an overall record of 3-10-1, 1-7 WHAC. They recently suffered a 3-0 loss to Cornerstone (Mich.) University on October 18. The Gray Wolves were led by Clare Ciarlino with two shots on goal, followed by Tori Koontz and Karlie O'Keefe with one shot on goal apiece. Goalkeeper Kiley Transit recorded six saves in the game while allowing three goals.
Lourdes is paced by Ciarlino with six goals and three assists on the season. O'Keefe and Isabelle Karamuco both have contributed three goals. While in net for the Gray Wolves, Transit has recorded 82 saves while allowing 32 saves in 14 games.
