SOUTHFIELD, Mich. -- The Lawrence Technological (Mich.) University women's soccer team lost to Heidelberg (Ohio) University 3-2 in double-overtime at LTU Athletic Field.

Lawrence Tech (2-4) took the early lead on a fantastic goal from Tia Lamie (SO/Portage, Mich.) who scored from outside the box on the near side, sneaking the ball into the far corner for a 1-0 lead in the third minute. In the 80th minute, Lauren Wasiak (FR/Walled Lake, Mich.) gave LTU a 2-0 lead, but Heidelberg responded with a goal seven seconds later to cut the lead to 2-1.

Heidelberg tied the match at 2-2, two minutes later and almost won the game in the 90th minute, but an offsides call nullified the goal. The first overtime saw no goals, but in six minutes into the second overtime, Heidelberg's Abigail Callahan scored from a nice cross from Kate Mundy to give Heidelberg the 3-2 win.

Megan Dixon (SR/Andover, Minn.) made two saves in net while Alexandra Farmer finished with eight saves on 10 shots on goal. Lamie led the way for Lawrence Tech with a goal and an assist on eight shots.

Lawrence Tech is back on the pitch September 20 when they travel to Huntington (Ind.) University in Huntington, Ind. Opening kickoff is set for 2 p.m.
