2018 WHAC Awards
SOUTHFIELD, Mich. -- Isabelle Vickers (SR/Rockford, MI) of the Lawrence Technological (Mich.) University women's lacrosse team earned WHAC Offensive Player of the Year as five Blue Devils earned All-Conference First Team honors, the conference office announced on Saturday afternoon.
Vickers becomes the second player in the program history to earn offensive player of the year honors, following Kadijah Kalo in 2017. Vickers also earned first team all-conference honors for the third straight season. Vickers finished the season with 56 goals, 30 assists, and 84 points. She recorded 96 draw controls.
Ashley Collins (SR/Hartland, MI) is making her third appearance on the first team, taking home high honors in 2015 and 2017. Collins finished with 65 assists, 24 goals and a team high 89 points. Marci Schaeffer (SR/Eaton Rapids, Mich.) is earning her second straight first team honor, scoring 21 goals and five assists and limited opponents to 49 goals on the season. Ann Gagnon and Maddie Barnewold (JR/Oxford, Mich.) take home their first all-conference first team honors.Gagnon finished with 51 goals, 21 asssits, and 72 points.
Marie Klonowski (SR/Gurnee, IL), Vickers, and Schaeffer earn WHAC all-academic honors for the second straight season while Katja Nuler (SO/Canton, Mich.) earned champions of character player.
Sam VIckstrom of Indiana Tech earned WHAC Defensive Player of the Year honors while Megan Payrett of Aquinas (Mich.) College took home WHAC Newcomer of the Year honors. Geri Merrell of Aquinas earned WHAC Coach of the Year.
