#11 Women's Bowling Dominates at AHBA

Canton, MI – The #11 Lawrence Technological University women's bowling team competed at the two-day AHBA Tournament over the weekend where they dominated their division taking second place out of 16 teams in the first event with a final score of 6912 before winning the second event with a final score of 7323. 

AHBA Day 1:

Bailey Gipson was the top women's bowler on the weekend for both days and finished in fifth place overall on day one bowling a 189, 184, 212, 216, 186 five-game series with a total score of 987. Gipson's average for day one was 197.4. 

Sydney Clark also bowled a fabulous five-game series, earning herself a final score of 939. Clark's highest game was 200 even and she averaged a 187.8 for day one. She finished in 11th place overall.

In 43rd place overall on day one, Victoria Giardina was the third-best bowler for the Blue Devils coming in with a score of 781. Giardina's top bowl was 212 with an average of 195.25. 

Some other LTU bowlers were Laurin Prebelich who bowled a 736 completing day one inside the top-50, Alexandria Smigiel bowling a 719 final score, and Daniella DeCruydt finishing with a 516.

There were a total of 92 bowlers.

AHBA Day 2:

LTU dominated day two as they had the top three bowlers who all averaged over 220.00 scores for their five-game series of bowls.

Gipson finished in first place overall and came in the top spot for the Blue Devils again, bowling a 969 with her highest game of 278, for an average of 242.25 for day two.

In second place, was teammate Giardina bowling an individual score of 911 with her top game being 241, as she finished with an average score of 227.75.

DeCruydt earned herself a third-place finish, bowling with a final score of 885 on the weekend and a game-high of 232.

Some other student-athlete bowlers for the Blue Devils were Prebelich bowling a total of 741 to finish her weekend inside the top-20. Smigiel and Clark both finished inside the top-70 with scores of 348 and 323 respectively.

There was a total of 82 bowlers for this women's event

The Blue Devils' next bowling match is Saturday, November 6th for the WHAC 2 -Jax 60 Tournament in Jackson, MI. This event will begin at 8 AM.
