Winona, IN - The Lawrence Technological University (Mich.) Men's Tennis team took the court against a top 25 opponent in (#18) Grace College and the team fell short losing by a final score of 0-4. The men will look to learn and bounce back from this loss heading into the weekend.
In the #1 doubles match, Alexander Tammaro and Jannis Schneider fell to Paule and Faccundo in straight sets with a final score of 3-6. In the #2 doubles match, Kevin Bollmann and Patrick Putschbach, lost their doubles match against Max and Fabricio 6-2. In the #3 doubles match, and Luca Roch and Alex Rajal came up short against Mauricio and Ivan with a final score of 2-6.
In the men's singles matches, Tammaro was the first match on the day, and just couldn't get anything going as he fell short with a score of 4-6, 6-7. -2. Patrick Putschbach lost in straight sets 4-6, 2-6 to David Sandi. In the #3 singles match, Pedro Garcia-Orellena was hoping to get his team and himself back in the win column, but just couldn't get the job done as he lost to his opponent the third set with a final score of 4-6, 7-5, 7-10. Luca Roth was the #4 singles match, as he lost in straight sets with a final score of 3-6, 2-6. The final single match for LTU was Jannis Schneider as he lost in straight sets as well with a final score of 4-6, 2-6.
Lawrence Tech Men's Tennis is now 2-2 overall. LTU will look to bounce back this weekend as they continue their match play on Saturday, February 27th on the road as the team will travel to Lima, Ohio and face another top 25 opponent in (#17) University of Northwestern Ohio. The match will begin at 10:00 AM EST.
