GRAND RAPIDS, Mich.- Women's lacrosse headed to Grand Rapids, Michigan, on Wednesday night to take on former WHAC Foe and longtime rival Davenport University at the Farmers Insurance Sports Complex. The result was the Blue Devils falling 17-8 Wednesday evening.

Goals in the first half came from a slew of Blue Devils, including Kaylee Patterson, who scored off an Ashley Sherry assist at the 18:40 mark of the first half. Goal two came from Abbey Smentowski unassisted at the 16:01 mark of the first half.

 With an onslaught of goals, Ashley Sherry scored goal number three at the 13:00 mark of the first half unassisted. Sherry would score again at the 11:21 mark off the assist from Smentowski. Goal number five came at the 2:31 mark from Abby Barnewold, with the assist coming from Kady Waits.

With the second half underway, Sherry would find the back of the net for the fourth time on the evening, with an unassisted goal coming at the 27:25 mark in the second half. Bella Van Buren scored the final two goals, with the first goal coming off the assist from Kady Waits at 16:07 and goal number two coming from the assist off Smentowski.

Overall, the Blue Devils had 8 goals, 5 assists, 14 shots, 11 on goal, 15 ground balls, 10 draw controls, 24 turnovers, and 4 caused turnovers on Wednesday. Three goalies saw action for the Blue Devils on Wednesday, with Dorrie Coggin getting the start, Sydney Lincoln coming in relief, and Annabelle Acluche closing out the game.

Coggin had 11 goal attempts in 30 minutes of action with 9 saves on 20 shots, while Lincoln had 4 goal attempts in 14:34 minutes of action with 1 save and 5 shots. Lastly, Acluche had 2 goal attempts in 15:26 minutes of action with 0 saves and 2 shots. In total, the Blue Devils goalies gave up 17 goal attempts, 10 saves, and 27 shots. Wednesday evening.

Looking ahead, the Blue Devils will focus toward Madonna on Saturday evening inside Blue Devils Stadium. It will be the first time Women's Lacrosse will have played in Blue Devils Stadium in 3 years.
