Box Score SOUTHFIELD, Mich.- On what turned out to be a partly cloudy day and with potential rain in the forecast, it was only fitting for the Women's Lacrosse program to be playing for a conference championship on Saturday afternoon. This marked the seventh game in ten days for the women's lacrosse program. During that time, the Blue Devils went 6-1 overall, with their lone loss coming to Concordia on Sunday, April 18th.
The Blue Devils and the Saints both upset their respective opponents on Thursday were both looking to win a conference championship and punch their ticket to the National Tournament in Savannah, Georgia. The result was the Blue Devils taking care of business on Saturday, winning 17-10 in front of a packed crowd at Blue Devils Stadium.
Abbey Smentowski continued her dominance on the field, scoring 4 goals to run up her season total to 29 goals on the season. Bella Van Buren had 3 goals on Saturday afternoon, with her season total now at 21 goals.
Gabi Larkin scored 2 goals alongside 2 assists for the Blue Devils. Other Blue Devils with two goals on Saturday were Kaylee Patterson, Ashley Sherry, Kady Waits, and Anna Foley. Dorie Coggin went the complete game giving up 10 goals on 21 shots and 11 saves. The Blue Devils dominated on Ground Balls with 30 compared to Siena Heights 9.
