Detroit, Mich. – After defeating Purdue 5-2 on Saturday night in the Blue Devil Winter Classic, the #10 Lawrence Technological University ACHA D3 men's hockey team continued to carry its momentum into Sunday afternoon by winning a barn burner defeating the Boilermakers by a final of 2-1.
How It Happened: Game 1
- Tyler Drummy scored 18 seconds into the game off assists from Martino Zaia and Jorai Bart.
- LTU scored four minutes later to extend their lead to 2-0 from an unassisted goal from Payten Arnold.
- 17:53 minutes into the first period, Bradley Scott found the back of the net giving the Blue Devils a 3-0 lead that came from Zaia's second assist of the game.
- Scoring his ninth goal of the season was Connor Juhasz just five minutes into the second period. Assisted by Cole Goble.
- Purdue finally got on the board after a Cameron Page goal just 11:52 minutes into the second period, decreasing the lead to 4-1.
- With just under two minutes left until intermission, Nicklas Oda bent one behind the goalie to put LTU up 5-2. Zaia earned his third assist of the game.
- In the third period, the Boilermakers William Mauer scored midway through giving them their second goal of the game.

How It Happened: Game 2
- Five minutes into the first period, forward Sam Stepanek sniped one past the goalie to put LTU on the board first. Assisted from Sawyer Walker and Derek D'Arcy.
- With just under six minutes of action left in the first, Collin Clark finessed the puck past the goalie's reach to widen the lead to 2-0 during the teams' power play. Oda and Goble were both awarded the assist.
- The second period was a bit slower on the offensive end for both squads as they were both held scoreless after the intermission.
- The Boilermakers found their only goal of the contest after Dylan Franks found the back of the net midway through the third period.
