Box Score 2 SOUTHFIELD, Mich. - The Lawrence Technological Blue Devils D1 hockey team met up with Rochester in a home-in-home in conference play. The Blue Devils handled their opponent in both games of their weekend set, coming away 2-0 on the weekend.
Friday vs. Rochester, W 10-0:
- Patrick McGowan got the Blue Devils on the board early of a dish from Keegan Rundle
- Sean Pilet tacked on a second goal, on the power-play, in the first period to give LTU a 2-0 advantage into the first intermission
- Justin Hubenschmidt finds James Jentz to put another power-play goal away for the Blue Devils
- Cole Therrian added another goal, from Jentz and Pilet
- LTU led 4-0 heading to the third period
- The Blue Devis turned on the jets in the third; Midway through the period, Blake Heier and McGowan scored two goals in nine seconds
- Four minutes later, McGowan and Thimo Ey scored two goals in 30 seconds
- McGowan would add a fourth goal for good measure with 2:00 left on the clock to extend the led to 9-0
- Jacob Stawinski put one behind the crease in the waning second of the match. LTU 10, RU 0
- Spencer Krul posted the Shutout for LTU
Saturday @ Rochester, W 2-0:
- Hubenschmidt snagged the first goal, from Rundle and McGowan
- Therrian scored the late in the fist to give the Blue Devils a 2-0 lead into first intermission
- That would be it for the scoring as neither team could get anything in the net in the second and third periods
- Noah Brandau recorded the shutout for LTU
The Blue Devils (9-0-0, 6-0-0) continue WHAC play as they face Indiana Tech in a home-and-home on October 28th (in Fort Wayne, Ind. on the road) and 29th (at home, in Farmington Hills, Mich.).
