Southfield, MI - The #1 Lawrence Technological University women's lacrosse team hosted conference opponent (RV) Concordia University on Wednesday evening. After a sluggish start by the Blue Devils, they quickly turned it around and only let up one goal after the first period as they came out on top by a final score of 18-5.
How It Happened: LTU 18, CUAA 5
- The Cardinals would take an early 2-0 lead just four minutes into play.
- Two goals by Bella Burke and one by Kady Waits put LTU back up one.
- A goal by CUAA at the 7:51 mark in the first tied things up.
- Seconds later, Alaina Smythe scored her 11th goal of the season to go up 4-3.
- The Blue Devils scored three more unanswered goals by Hannah Huebner, Abby Barnewold, and another by Smythe.
- LTU was up 7-3 after one.
- The Blue Devils dominated the second period outscoring CUAAÂ 6-0.
- Sydney Robinson scored the first goal of the period.
- Scoring her 21st goal of the season was Waits minutes later.
- At the 5:37 mark, Smythe extended the lead to 10-3.
