Cornerstone Defeats Men's Tennis in WHAC Tournament

Grand Rapids, Mich. – The Lawrence Technological University men's tennis team faced off against Cornerstone in the first round of the WHAC Tournament.

In doubles, the pair of Jannis Schneider / Patrick Putschbach were defeated 6-3 by Mateo Jimenez / Luis Felipe Azurduy
Alexander Tammaro / Pedro Garcia-Orellana lost to Santiago Castellanos / Daniel Alfaro 6-4, securing the point for the Golden Eagles
Nils Hammarsten / Luca Roth defeated Jose Oliva / Matthew Hall 6-4
In men's singles, Daniel Colombo was defeated by Luis Felipe Azurduy 7-5, 6-1 in the 4-singles match. CU 2, LTU 0
Castellanos took down Garcia-Orellana 2-6, 6-2, 6-4. CU 3, LTU 0
Roth won his 6-singles match against Alejandro Santana 6-3, 7-5. CU 3, LTU 1
Hammarsten beat Alfaro in 3-singles 6-4, 7-5 to bring the Blue Devils within a point. CU 3, LTU 2
Oliva clinched the victory for Cornerstone by defeating Schneider 2-6, 6-3, 7-6. CU wins 4-2
Top-flight match between Tammaro and M. Jimenez was abandoned upon Cornerstone's victory.

This spells the end of the season for Men's Tennis, finishing the season 14-15.
