HILLSDALE, Mich. — The Lawrence Technological University men's tennis team wrapped up action at the 2026 Hillsdale College Summer Invitational over the weekend, highlighted by strong deep runs in both singles and doubles play.

Alessandro Gatto and Cael Guthrie spearheaded the Blue Devils' efforts in doubles competition, putting together an impressive run in the B Bracket Doubles draw. After receiving a first-round bye, the duo pulled off a tight 7-6 (9) tiebreaker victory over Hillsdale's Alex Cordero Lopez and Rintaro Goda in the semifinals to advance to the final round. Gatto and Guthrie ultimately finished as the bracket runners-up after falling 6-1 in the championship match.

In singles play, Carlos Patricio posted a standout performance in the A Bracket Singles draw. Patricio battled through a tough quarterfinal match to edge Ashland's Eduardo Lima 6-3, 0-6, 10-6 before falling in the semifinals. Meanwhile, Cian Thomas reached the A Bracket Consolation final after picking up a win over Walsh's Farres Ricard.

In the B Bracket Singles draw, Gatto earned a hard-fought 6-2, 2-6, 12-10 quarterfinal win over Ashland's Ryohei Miyake to reach the main draw semifinals.
