Greentown, IN - The Lawrence Technological University men's tennis team was on the road as they competed against IU Southeast on Friday afternoon. The men swept the Grenadiers by a score of 5-0.
In the first doubles match on the day,
Patrick Putschbach and
Jannis Schneider took down their opponent by a final of 6-2.
The second doubles match between
Evan Morgan and
Nils Hammarsten and Reynolds and Harris went in the Blue Devils favor by a score of 6-3.Â
Alexander Tammaro's and
Luca Roth's match was abandoned.
In the first singles match,
Pedro Garcia-Orellana went the distance. Garcia-Orellana dropped the first set 2-6, but was able to win the next two 6-3 and 11-9 in a super set tiebreaker.
Morgan finished next in his match by a score of 6-1 and 7-6 (tiebreaker).
The third singles match completed was Schneider as he went to the third set against his opponent. Schneider lost set one 2-6, but won the next two 6-0Â and 10-6 (super set tiebreaker).
The final singles match of the day was Tammaro as he went on to win in straight sets by scores of 6-4, 6-0. Â
Rafael Rezende Mendes' and
Diego Colombo's singles matches were abandoned as LTU beat IU Southeast by a final score of 5-0.
The Blue Devils are back on the court Saturday, April 9th when they compete against Indiana Wesleyan Unviersity at Howard County Tennis Center. This event will begin at 11 AM.
