Personal Bests Has Women's Cross Country Feeling Good at Jayhawk Invitational

MUSKEGON, Mich. -- The Lawrence Technological University women's cross country team traveled to compete in the Jayhawk invitational hosted by Muskegon Community College. The women had their best showing of the season, placing 5th of 9 teams, scoring 145 points.

Hanna Assenmacher was the top finisher for the Blue Devils, placing 11th of 111 runners. She finished with a personal-best 19:01 for the 5k.

Jacqueline Albo finished 37th at 20:29
Molly Kline: 39th, 20:33
Erin McCardell: 53rd, 21:00
Madison Armstrong: 60th, 21:24

Kline, McCardell, and Armstrong also finished with personal best times, despite running in less-than-optimal, wet conditions.

Coach Green on the performance: "I am so proud of the way the women ran today. Each week they continue to run better as a team, with most of them running personal or seasonal bests today in not-so-great conditions. They should run very well next week at the Great Lakes Invite at Riverside park."

The women return to action on Saturday, October 21 when they run at the Great Lakes Invitational. The event starts at 9 am.
