Ada, Mich. - The Lawrence Tech men's golf squad headed out to Ada, Michigan on Monday for the Taylor Invite hosted by Taylor University. The Blue Devils shot a team score of 296 on round 1 and a team score of 293 on round 2, finishing off their day with a total score of 589 on the Egypt Valley Golf Course, finishing in first place after day 1. The Blue Devils came into day 2 in first place, hoping to stay that way, however they dropped down to second place to nationally ranked, Taylor University shooting a team score of 302 in round 3. The Blue Devils finished in second place with a team score of 891.
The schools that competed in the Taylor Invite are Taylor, Aquinas, Cornerstone, University of Northwestern Ohio, Mount Mercy, Roosevelt, Davenport, Brescia, St. Francis, Grand Rapids Community College, and Grace Christian. Taylor University nationally ranked no.19, with Mount Mercy (6), Roosevelt (5), Northwestern Ohio (4), and Lawrence Tech (3) receiving votes as well.

Bruno Vicente (218) who came in second place after day 2. Right behind Vicente, senior
Liam McEvoy (223) finishing in sixth. Following Vicente and McEvoy was graduate student
Luis Pacheco (227) and sophomore
Martin Wing (228).
The Blue Devils will head out to Kohler, Wisconsin on Monday for the 2023 College Championship at
one of the most competitive and prestigious courses, Whistling Straits Golf Course.
