LTU Golf Teams Post Strong First Round at Spring Break Invitational

OPELIKA, Ala. — The Lawrence Technological University men's and women's golf teams opened play at the LTU Spring Break Invitational with strong first-round performances Monday at the Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail at Grand National Lake Course.

After the opening 18 holes, the Blue Devil men sit in 5th place with a team score of +12 (300). David Krige led the way for Lawrence Tech, shooting a 2-under 70 and currently sitting tied for 3rd place on the individual leaderboard. Martin Wing followed closely behind, carding a 1-under 71 to sit tied for 5th, while Jasper Komkommer posted an even-par 72, placing him tied for 8th after the first round.

On the women's side, the Blue Devils are tied for 3rd place as a team heading into day two of competition. Tanawan Vetchayanvivat leads LTU and is currently 4th overall after shooting a 5-over 77 in the opening round. Cadance Beuckelare also turned in a solid performance, carding an 81 (+9) to sit tied for 10th individually.

Both teams will return to the course Tuesday morning for the final round as the Blue Devils look to climb the leaderboard and close out a strong showing in Alabama.
