Lawrence Tech women take second, men finish third at Heritage Hill Collegiate

| By:

Shepherdsville, Ky. - Lawrence Tech posted a strong weekend on both sides of the field at the LTU Heritage Hill Collegiate, with the Blue Devils women finishing second out of nine teams and the men placing third in the nine-school event at Heritage Hill Golf Course in Shepherdsville, Kentucky.

The women turned in a 54-hole team total of 962, good for second place at 98 over par. Tanawan Vetchayanvivat led Lawrence Tech by tying for seventh individually at 234, finishing 18 over for the tournament. Wariya Turongkinanon followed in 14th place at 244, while Aliz Schickele and Claire Hollingsworth each tied for 15th after shooting 245. The steady depth in the lineup kept the Blue Devils near the top of the standings throughout the three-day event, which was played March 26-28 under clear skies.

Marian University's Emma Weiler claimed the women's individual title with a standout 211, finishing 5 under par for the weekend. Even with Weiler separating from the field, Lawrence Tech placed four golfers inside the top 15, a balance that helped secure the runner-up finish.

On the men's side, the Blue Devils also put together a solid showing, finishing third out of nine teams. Martin Wing paced Lawrence Tech with a tie for seventh place after shooting 225, or 9 over par. Richard Bramley tied for 12th at 230, and Jasper Komkommer tied for 19th at 233. Lawrence Tech had three players finish inside the top 20, giving the men enough scoring stability to remain in the top tier of the team standings.

Campbellsville's Daniel Alonso earned medalist honors in the men's competition after shooting 205, finishing 11 under par for the tournament. Lawrence Tech did not match that front-running individual score, but its lineup produced another balanced result in a deep field.

For Lawrence Tech, the weekend was defined by consistency across both tournaments. The women delivered the higher team finish by taking second, while the men added a third-place result, giving the Blue Devils a productive home-branded event away from campus at Heritage Hill.
