OPELIKA, Ala. — The Lawrence Tech men's and women's golf teams wrapped up competition at the LTU Spring Break Invitational held at the RTJ Golf Trail at Grand National Lake Course, with both squads turning in solid performances against competitive fields.
The Blue Devil men finished sixth out of 13 teams with a combined score of +54 for the tournament. Lawrence Tech was paced by Martin Wing and David Krige, who each finished tied for ninth place after posting identical scores of +6 over the two rounds. Jasper Komkommer also recorded a strong showing, finishing tied for 16th at +9. The individual title on the men's side went to Ben McFadden of Dalton State College, who finished the event at -3.
On the women's side, the Blue Devils placed third out of eight teams with a total score of +121. Tanawan Vetchayanvivat led the way with an outstanding performance, finishing second overall at +17. Alix Schickele added a top-15 finish, tying for 12th place at +32, while Cadance Beuckelare finished 19th with a score of +36. The women's individual champion was Sarah Meral of Loyola University New Orleans, who claimed the title at +14 for the tournament.
The invitational provided a strong early-season test for both Blue Devil squads as they continue their spring schedules and prepare for upcoming conference competition.
