Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 SOUTHFIELD--Nationally-ranked Lawrence Tech scored a season high in goals in back-to-back games this weekend in a sweep versus Rochester, winning 9-0 in Friday's road victory at Big Boy Arena in Fraser and 13-0 at home late Saturday night at Farmington Hills Ice Arena, in Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference men's hockey action. With the victories, the Blue Devils (No. 23 in this week's American Collegiate Hockey Association Division 1 poll) improve to 4-4 overall and 4-2 in the WHAC. The Warriors drop to 0-6 on the season and 0-4 in the conference.

On Friday, LTU scored three goals in each period while goalies Brett Tome and Patric Loeffler got the combined shutout with 13 saves by the former.

David Hoftiezer led the offensive barrage with four points on three goals and an assist. Drake Barnish (2 goals), Thimo Ey (2 assists), Christopher Kondiles (2 assists), Bradley Scott (2 assists) also had multi-point games for the Blue Devils, who saw 13 skaters register at least one point.

On Saturday, Justin Hubenschmidt paced the offensive with two goals and two assists. Jacob Holston and Barnish each added two goals and an assist. In all, 16 LTU players had at least one point including nine who had multiple-point games to illustrate a balanced offense.

Hubenschmidt started the scoring in a hurry in what would be a good omen for the Blue Devils. He took a feed from Dylan Magdich to light the lamp just 30 seconds after the opening face-off.

Hubenschmidt made it 2-0 midway through the opening period as LTU led 3-0 after 20 minutes.

The Blue Devils blew the game open with five goals in the second period including four in a span of 3 minutes and 13 seconds by Avery Pittman, Hoftiezer and Barnish with two. 

Up next for the Blue Devils will be No. 12 Indiana Tech in a key WHAC series on Oct. 27-28. On Friday, the teams will be at the Farmington Hills Ice Arena for an 8 p.m. puckdrop. Then on Saturday, the teams will play in Fort Wayne, Ind., at the Allen County War Memorial Coliseum, with a 2:30 p.m. opening face-off.
