Sheboygan, Wis. - The Lawrence Tech men's golf squad headed out to Sheboygan, Wisconsin for the 2023 Whistling Straits Championship on Monday. Lawrence Tech being the only WHAC school that made an appearance for this challenge. LTU facing ranked schools like no.1 ranked Keiser University, no.5 ranked Bellevue, and no.12 ranked Taylor University. The Blue Devils shot a team score of 328 on the opening 18 holes of round one, placing in second place. The Blue Devils played round two Tuesday morning, shooting a team score of 314, dropping them down to 7th place overall.
Leading the way for LTU was senior
Liam McEvoy (81+73=154), finishing in fifth place. Senior
Bruno Vicente (82+78=160), sophomore
Martin Wing (79+82=161), graduate student
Luis Pacheco (86+81=167), and senior
Anthony Zetiler (87+85=172) also competed for the Blue Devils.
Keiser University took first place in the 2023 Whistling Straits Championship with a total score of 628.
That will conclude the Blue Devils fall season, until the spring.
