FARMINGTON HILLS, Mich.--Freshman Will Jentz scored two first period goals to set the tone for a Lawrence Tech 4-2 non-conference victory over visiting Purdue in a Top-25 showdown of American Collegiate Hockey Association Division 3 men's programs at Farmington Hills Ice Arena on Saturday night. The eighth-ranked Blue Devils are now 11-3-1 on the season after extending their winning streak to eight games, while the No. 14 Boilermakers drop to 10-4 overall.

  • Matt Goring scored both of the Boilermakers goals.
  • Matt Wheeler also had two points--both assists.
  • Goaltender Kayne Pasquet had 27 saves.
How it Happened
  • Goring gave Purdue a 1-0 lead with 9 minutes and 16 seconds remaining in the opening stanza.
  • Lawrence Tech tied it 1-1 at the 6:24 mark of the first period as Jentz found the back of the net, unassisted.
  • He put the Blue Devils in the lead at 2-1 about 5 minutes later on another unassisted tally with LTU on the man-advantage.
  • Goring knotted the score, 2-2, at the 3:49 mark in the second period.
  • Juhasz scored what proved to be the game-winning goal on the power-play at the 10:43 mark of the third period that made the score 3-2 LTU.
  • The Blue Devils iced the win on Boissonneault's marker with 7:07 to go, or 3:36 later.
Beyond the Boxscore
  • Purdue competes in the Indiana Collegiate Hockey Conference.
  • The Boilermakers came into the contest with 92 goals-for and a plus-55 goal differential.
  • Juhasz leads LTU with 10 goals on the season.
  • Lawrence Tech has won five of the last six meetings, with two going into overtime (both LTU wins).
  • Jentz has tied Benjamin De Haas and Juhasz for the team scoring lead with 13 points each.
After taking a break for the Thanksgiving holiday, LTU resumes Michigan Collegiate Hockey Conference action with a Dec. 1-2 weekend series versus No. 6-ranked Oakland University, as the teams will be in Farmington Hills on Friday (8 p.m.) and then at Troy Sports Center on Saturday (time TBA).
