TROY, Mich.--The fourth national rankings of the 2023-24 season for American Collegiate Hockey Association Division 3 men has been released, as Lawrence Tech has climbed for the third time this season to No. 3 going into the holiday break.
The Blue Devils, who took their fall semester final exams this past week, have won 10 games in a row to improve to 13-3-1 on the season. Lawrence Tech has outscored their opposition 52 to 13 during its winning streak since its last loss (3-2 in overtime) on Oct. 15 to unranked Florida Gulf Coast at home.
Undefeated, untied Grand Valley State (15-0) is the top ranked team again for the fourth MD3 poll. Florida Gulf Coast keeps a lock on the No. 2 position, while LTU and Hope jump to third and fourth, respectively, with Missouri rounding out the top five.
Six conferences are represented along with several independent teams within the Top 30, with the Michigan College Hockey Conference--LTU's coalition--leading the way with nine teams. The Blue Devils currently sit at 7-0-1 in the MCHC East Division and are 4-0 versus the Top 25.
Freshman Will Jentz leads the team in scoring with 13 points on eight goals and 11 assists. Senior Connor Juhasz tops the Blue Devils with 11 goals among 16 points. Junior Griffin Foster has played most of the minutes in the LTU goal, sporting a 6-1 record with a 1.75 goals-against average and .913 save percentage.
As a team, LTU boasts the best goal differential at plus-43 and has allowed the fewest goals at 31 in the MCHC-East.
Lawrence Tech resumes action on Friday and Saturday, Jan. 5-6, against Michigan-Flint in a two-game home-and-home MCHC-East series.
