Men's Golf Finished 7th in Folds of Honor rain out

Allendale, Mich. -  The Lawrence Tech men's golf squad headed out to Allendale, Michigan for the Folds of Honor Challenge hosted by Grand Valley State University on Sunday. The Blue Devils attempted to play round three of the Folds of Honor Challenge on Monday, however, it got rained out. The Blue Devils shot a team score of 294 on the opening 18 holes of round one and shot a team score of 297 on the second round of 18 holes. Finishing in seventh place after day one with a combined score of 591. Lawrence Tech finishing in seventh place on Monday, due to the rain out, could not finish the third and final round of this challenge and will not be rescheduled. 

Lawrence Tech being the only WHAC school to make an appearance in the Fold of Honor Challenge. This is a collegiate, invitation-only event hosted by the GCAA, encompassing 54-holes over two days.

Lawrence Tech finishing ahead of several NCAA D2 and D3 schools including, University of Findlay, Lee University, University of Indianapolis, Davis and Elkins College, Fayetteville State, and Otterbein University. 

Leading the way for LTU was Graduate Student Luis Pacheco shooting 72 in round one and 75 in round two finishing off his day with a score of 147. Following Pacheco was senior Bruno Vicente who shot a 74 in round one and a 75 in round two finishing off his day with a score of 149. Senior Liam McEvoy (71 + 76 = 147), senior Anthony Zeitler (77 + 71 = 148), graduate student Victor Queinnec (84 + 80 = 164), and graduate student Diego Courtney (79 + 79 = 158) also competed for the Blue Devils. 

Grand Valley State University took first place with a team score of 569. 

Lawrence Tech will have two weeks off until they head out to Augusta, Michigan for the WHAC Preview at Stoatin Brae Golf Club on Sunday September, 24th and Monday September, 25th.
