Women’s Cross Country Performs at Louisville Classic

LOUISVILLE, Ky. - The Lawrence Tech women's cross country team traveled to Kentucky for the Louisville Cross Country Classic Host by University of Louisville at EP Tom Sawyer State Park. It was the second meet of the season where they ran as a full team and it put them in a great position to finish high in the competitive Silver Race.

They came out of the race with 2 top 20 finishers for awards and leading the team to a 25th placing out of 50 teams.

Jackie Albo again was the team's top finisher with a time of 19:05 for 9th place out of 401 runners. Hanna Assenmacher took 15th place with a personal-best 19:27 and received a top 25 award. She was followed by Molly Kline (186th, 22:01), Erin McCardell (196th, 22:11) and Madison Armstrong (206th, 22:19).

Coach Green on their performance: "Things are coming together with our team which every week they are getting faster at the meets. Today was a great example of what they can accomplish as a team going into the conference meet next month. Like the guys, they struggled in the heat but held there own at the finish."

The cross country team will be off next week for the homecoming festivities before being back in action for the Jayhawk Invite in 2 weeks.
