Ottawa Lakes, Mich. - The Lawrence Tech men's golf squad opened its 2023-24 season on Tuesday at the Lourdes Invite hosted by Lourdes University. The Blue Devils shot a team score of 296 on The Legacy Golf Course, finishing in first place, tying with Cleary University, after the opening 18 holes.

Diego Courtney (71) as he also took first place in the match. Not only did Courtney earn first place in today match but it was his first career win. Right beside Courtney, sophomore

Yan De Mondt (78) contributing to the team score.
Coach Marzolino had some words to say after the match, "Congratulations to Diego for his medalist victory, as well as Santiago who was just one shot behind Diego. Both of them have been playing very solid golf and will be battling for a starting spot all year long."

"I am certainly proud of the guys to have battled the very hot conditions to come up with a victory. This comes on the heels of playing in 5 qualifying rounds over the weekend under similar conditions. Just outstanding" Coach Marzolino says after todays match.
The Blue Devils will head out to Allendale, Michigan on Sunday September, 10th for the Folds of Honor Challenge at The Meadows of Grand Valley course.
