Blue Devils Show Signs of Growth at Bethany Invitational

BETHANY, W.Va.- The Lawrence Technological University Blue Devils women's cross country team traveled to West Virginia to compete in the Bison Invitational hosted by Bethany College. This was the team's sixth year opening its season at this event.

Molly Kline was the top team finisher in the 6k race placing 61st of 169 at 26:26, a whole minute faster than her time on the course last year.

Erin McCardell followed closely behind finishing 84th with a time of 27:04.

Jacqueline Albo did not finish due to injury.

Coach Eric Green on the team's success: "This turned into a interesting race for us. Jackie Albo was in the top 20 through the 5k mark, but felt something not right in her hip and pulled out just before the big hill. I am glad she did because it would have made matters worse. I needed her health for next week and the rest of the season.:

The Blue Devils will compete at the Grand Rapids Community College meet on Friday, September 15 at 8 a.m., where they will get to compete with a familiar foe, conference rival Aquinas, in the group.
