Men's Lacrosse Announces 2024 Schedule; Receiving Votes in Top 10 Coaches Poll

| By:
SOUTHFIELD, Mich. - The Lawrence Technological University men's lacrosse team has announced its schedule for the upcoming 2024 season with LTU receiving votes in the NAIA Top 10 coaches poll.

Some notable non-conference games the Blue Devils will compete in this season begin on March 2 against No. 4-ranked Cumblerlands at the start of their spring break trip in Williamsburg, Kentucky, followed two days later against No.6-ranked Reinhardt in Waleska, Georgia.

The matchups to tune into this year in WHAC play for Lawrence Tech starts on March 27 against last year's WHAC regular-season champion No. 5-ranked Concordia Ann Arbor at home. The Blue Devils play another conference game against No. 7-ranked Madonna on April 3 at home. Lawrence Tech will travel on April 6 for a conference game against No. 9-ranked and rivals Siena Heights. The Blue Devils will also make a trip to Grand Rapids to play against (RV) Aquinas on April 10. Lawrence Tech will play against last year's WHAC tournament champion and No.2-ranked Indiana Tech on April 17 on the road.

The Blue Devils will open up their season with an exhibition game against NCAA D3 school, Kalamazoo College, which will be played indoors at Detroit Country Day Fieldhouse on Feb. 9.

The Blue Devils are coming off a 6-6 2023 campaign. LTU finished sixth in the WHAC regular-season, which set them up to play against third seed Siena Heights in quarter-finals. Lawrence Tech fell 19-5 against Siena Heights, knocking LTU out of the WHAC Tournament.

Lawrence Tech is losing six players off the 2023 roster, including defender Sam Pickelhaupt. Pickelhaupt earned WHAC second team a year ago and finished his LTU career with 34 games played, 63 ground balls and 38 caused turnovers.

But some key returners for the Blue Devils are fifth year senior midfielder Damian Hudson, junior midfielder Grady Holmes, and sophomore attack Brendan Shinavier. Hudson earned WHAC offensive player of the year and first-team last year. The Okemos native led the team in points with 62, 42 goals, and 20 assists. Right behind Hudson is Holmes, Holmes earned WHAC second-team with 54 points, 37 goals, and 17 assists last year. Shinavier recorded 38 points with 28 goals and 10 assists last season.
