FARMINGTON HILLS, Mich.--The nationally-ranked Lawrence Tech men's hockey team in American Collegiate Hockey Association Division 3 used four different goal scorers--including senior
Nicklas Oda with a pair of markers--to defeat visiting Michigan-Flint, 5-1, late Saturday evening at Farmington Hills Arena.
With their 12th-consecutive win, the Blue Devils improve to 15-3-1 on the season and 9-0-1 in the Michigan College Hockey Conference East Division. The Wolverines, meanwhile, fall to 6-15-2 overall.
Lawrence Tech Highlights
- Senior Shane Percefull joined Oda with a two-point night, recording two assists.
- Sophomore Owen Przybylo made 13 saves with his defense in front of him doing an excellent job of limiting shots he faced.
- Senior Connor Juhasz and freshman Will Jentz also got on the scoresheet with an assist apiece.
UM-Flint Highlights
- Blake Burger scored the Wolverines' lone goal.
- Goaltender Ryan Rogers made 43 saves.
How it Happened
- Lawrence Tech, which scored three times in the third period to seal the win, kept the offensive pressure throughout the game by outshooting UM-Flint 48-14.
- Freshman defenseman Logan Barnes broke a 1-1 tie with a goal coming 2 minutes and 40 second left in the second period for a 2-1 LTU lead.
- In the first period, Oda notched his first goal at the 15:32 mark before UM-Flint's Burger tied it with 5:27 remaining.
- But LTU took control in the final stanza with three goals during a 10:41 span in the third. Oda recorded his second goal beginning at the 11:57 mark, followed by freshman Alex Grove on a feed from junior Gavin Holmes at 4:05. Senior Mitchell Sehlmeyer put the finishing touches on, unassisted, with 76 seconds left.

- Lawrence Tech is No. 3 in the latest ACHAMD3 national rankings released before Christmas break.
- Josh Appleberg tops the UM-Flint with 10 goals and 22 points, while Zach Potter leads the team with 15 assists among 21 points.
- Jentz leads LTU in scoring with 24 points as well as 15 assists; he had four-game multi-point streak (6+6=12) snapped in this outing.
- Przybylo owns a 6-0-1 record with a 1.30 goals-against average and .940 save percentage this season.
- Juhasz paces the LTU offense with 14 goals among 20 points.
