Brett Tome Earns Fourth WHAC Men's Hockey Defensive Player of the Week Honors

Stopped 26 of 27 shots in 4-1 win over Michigan-Dearborn among 79 saves in 2-0 week


Tome, who was also honored on Jan. 29, Jan. 15, and Nov. 20, stopped 26 of 27 shots in 4-1 win over Michigan-Dearborn that enabled LTU to leapfrog the Wolverines into second place in WHAC standings. Then posted a career-high 53 saves in 5-4 overtime win at UM-Dearborn, including two high-danger scoring chances in the extra session. 

On the season, Tome moves to 17-9-1 on the season, with a 2.43 goals-against average and .919 save percentage.

Lawrence Tech (19-11 overall, 17-7 WHAC) sweep a four-game regular-season series from the Wolverines for the first time in program history. Which the Blue Devils clinched second place in the WHAC. Lawrence Tech trails No. 18 ranked Indiana Tech (61 points) in the conference standings with 49 points.  
 
This weekend, LTU will play Rochester University in the WHAC Conference Tournament Quarterfinals on Friday (4:00p.m.), at Michigan-Dearborn Fieldhouse.
