MARYLAND HEIGHTS, Mo.--Top-seeded Lawrence Tech punched its ticket to the 2024 American Collegiate Hockey Association Division 3 Tournament Semifinals by virtue of a 2-2 overtime tie with No. 8 No. 8 Arkansas at Plager Arena at the Centene Community Ice Center on Saturday night. As a result, the Blue Devils (27-5-2 overall) advanced to the National Semifinals after winning Pool A and owning the tiebreakers over the Razorbacks (17-6-3), who needed a win to advance to the frozen four. BOXSCORE

Freshman Tommy Walsh sent the game to a 10-minute extra session 4 minutes and 22 seconds into the third period when he took sophomore Benjamin De Haas' pass from below the goal line and one-timed a shot at the top of the crease through the goaltender's pads.

Arkansas pulled its goalie with about 1:40 left in overtime in favor of an extra attacker because it needed the victory. After LTU cleared the puck from its defensive zone, senior Nicklas Oda skated down the ice to take the puck to the corner and wasted the last 15 seconds so the Razorbacks couldn't get out of their zone.

Junior starting goaltender Timothy Young up his record to 8-1-1 after making 44 saves. Young flexed his right pad on a double deflection on Arkansas' first scoring chance in OT.

Kyle Crews scored his second goal of the tournament at the 1:51 mark of the final stanza to give Arkansas a 2-1 lead.

Senior Shane Percefull gave LTU a 1-0 with 11:25 left in the first period. Classmate Cole Goble rifled a shot from the point that bounced off the end boards, where Walsh was standing at the left post to feed the puck across to Percefull for the goal.

Just 43 seconds into the second period Brenden Coon knotted the score at 1-all for the Razorbacks.

Sophomore Luke Radu could have given LTU a 1-0 lead 5 minutes after the opening face-off but Graden Reis made the breakaway save.

Reis (39 saves) also reached back to pull the puck off the goal line with the paddle of his stick late in overtime. He made another breakaway save on freshman Will Jentz's opportunity late in the second period that could have given LTU a 2-1 lead at the time.

Young was equal to the task denying a breakaway attempt by David Markovich with 5:41 left in regulation.

Lawrence Tech will meet Pool D winner and fourth-ranked Missouri in the National Semifinals at 2:15 p.m. Monday here at USA Arena.
