Opelika, Ala.- The Lawrence Tech men's golf squad headed out to Opelika, Alabama to host the LTU Spring Break Invite on Wednesday. LTU facing ranked schools like no.13 ranked Campbellsville, receiving votes Morningside, and receiving votes Indiana Wesleyan.
The Blue Devils Team A shot a team score of 299 placing 4th and Team B shot a score of 309 placing 6th out of 12 teams on the opening 18 holes of round one. The Blue Devils played round two Thursday morning, Team A shooting a team score of 281, shooting them up to first place and Team B shooting a team score of 300, staying in sixth place. Lawrence Tech played round three Friday morning, Team A shooting a team score of 293, finishing in first place and Team B shooting a team score of 307, finishing in 6th place.
Team A:
Leading the way for LTU Team A was graduate student
Luis Pacheco (75+67+72=214), finishing second. Right behind Pacheco was senior
Bruno Vicente (74+73+72=219), junior
Martin Wing (74+70+77=221), and senior
Liam McEvoy (76+75+72=223). Senior
Anthony Zeitler (80+71+78=229) also competed for the Blue Devils.
Team B:
Leading the way for LTU Team B was junior
Carlos Ochoa (73+73+75=221), placing tenth. Sophomore
Richard Bramley (77+76+78=231), freshman
Yan De Mondt (79+75+77=231), sophomore
Santiago Herrero (80+76+78=234), junior
Caden Gloss (79+79+76=234), junior
Thiago Ormachea (83+76+78=237), and graduate student
Diego Courtney (82+82+77=241) also competed.
The Blue Devils will be back in action on March 21-23 for the LTU Heritage Hill Collegiate in Shepherdsville, Kentucky.
