Opelika, Ala.- The Lawrence Tech women's golf squad hosted 10 schools for the LTU Spring Break Invite at Grand National Lake Course. LTU played round 1 on Thursday morning. The Blue Devils shot a team score of 322 on the opening 18 holes, tying with University of Tennessee Southern. Finishing in third place after day one. The Blue Devils shot a team score of 329 in round 2 Friday morning.
The teams that competed in the LTU Blue Devils Classic are Loyola New Orleans, Indiana Wesleyan, No. 25 University of Tennessee Southern, Freed Hardeman, No. 14 Indiana University East, Campbellsville, Shelton State CC, Faulkner, Concordia AA, and Culver Stockton.
Loyola New Orleans finished with a team score of 612.
Leading the way for LTU was freshman Tanawan Vetchaynivat (77+77=154), finishing in seventh. Following Vetchaynivat was freshman
Alix Schickele (79+81=160), finishing in 14th. Freshman Candance Beuckelare (81+85=166), senior
Alanna Makarchuk (85+86=171), junior
Ella Smith (87+88=175), freshman
Mia Hengel (101+101=202), and freshman
Gretchen Ullrich (107+109=216) also competed.
The Blue Devils are back at it March 21-23 at the LTU Heritage Hill Collegiate in Shepherdsville, Kentucky.
