Southfield, Mich. - The Blue Devils softball team is proud to announce Michael Mease as the new head coach of the program. Michael is originally from Cleveland, Ohio. Michael is coming from Lourdes University, where he was the assistant coach for the last three years. Before Lourdes, Michael coached his two daughters at North Ridgeville High School in Ohio, where he was the head coach for 8 years. In all, Michael has 10+ years of experience coaching softball.
Michael's accolades include turning the North Ridgeville High School softball team into a powerhouse. Coach Mease turned the ship of the program and made them into a top five D1 team. Coach Mease also sent his two daughters to college, where they continued playing the sport that they love at the collegiate level.
Coach Mease brings a STUDENT athlete culture, which emphasizes being a student first and an athlete second. Coach Mease is looking to bring a winning mentality to LTU. As for the WHAC, Coach Mease says, "Somebody's got to win the WHAC, why not us?"
Lastly, Coach Mease would like to thank his wife and his family for their continued support during this transition into a new chapter of his coaching career. He would also like to thank the former head coach at Lourdes University for the knowledge that they were able to share with Coach Mease. He would also like to thank Mary Ann Meltzer and the LTU Search Committee for the opportunity to coach at LTU. Coach Mease is very excited to get started and is ready to bring his prior WHAC experiences to build LTU into a winning program.
