Mens D3 Completes Outdoor Game and Stays Unbeaten

Game 1 (1/4/2025) - In a thrilling regular season hockey contest at Redford Ice Arena (Originally scheduled to be played at Clark Park, was moved to Redford due to weather) on January 4, 2025, the Lawrence Tech Blue Devils secured a solid victory over the Kent State Golden Flashes with a final score of 6-2. The Blue Devils showcased their dominance early in the game, leaving the ice after the first period leading 1-0, thanks to a pivotal goal by Trevor Losier. Their momentum only increased as they extended their lead to 6-0 by the end of the second period, assuring their dominance long before the final buzzer.

Trevor Losier opened the scoring for Lawrence Tech assisted by Will Jentz. Additional goals were successfully netted by Nicklas Oda, Devin Genzel, Luke Radu, Patrick McGowan, and Will Jentz throughout the second period. Kent State attempted a comeback in the third period with 2 goals of their own, but it was not enough to turn the tide. Assists for the Blue Devils came from a variety of players including Nicklas Oda, Mitchell Sehlmeyer, Tate Wright, Patrick McGowan, Logan BarnesTommy Walsh, and Derek D'Arcy, contributing to a well-rounded team performance.

Goalkeeping duties for the Blue Devils were capably handled by Griffin Foster and Noah Miklos, who together kept the Kent State offense in check for the majority of the game. Meanwhile, Kent State's efforts between the pipes could not stem the tide of Lawrence Tech's aggressive play. Game 2 (1/5/2025) - In a dominant display of hockey prowess, the Lawrence Tech Blue Devils delivered an impressive 7-0 shutout against the Kent State Golden Flashes on January 5, 2025, at Clark Park Coalition. The Blue Devils, known for their strategic gameplay and skilled roster, maintained their unbeaten streak in this regular season matchup.

The game kicked off strongly for the Blue Devils, who rapidly built a 3-0 lead in the first period. Luke Radu was notably spectacular, netting two of the three goals, with Alex Grove adding another. The relentless assault continued into the second period with Grove scoring twice more to complete the hat trick, complemented by a goal from Sawyer Walker, widening the gap to an insurmountable 6-0.

By the third period, the Blue Devils' dominance was unquestionable. Devin Genzel rounded out the scoring with a final goal, cementing the 7-0 victory. Radu's initial two goals proved crucial, earning him the honor of scoring the game-winning goal.
