Womens Hockey Suffers Sweep In Canada

ONTARIO, Canada - The Lawrence Tech Women's hockey team faced a tough road challenge against Sault College, falling in both games of the weekend series. Friday night saw the Blue Devils drop a 10-2 decision, primarily due to a formidable Sault offensive attack in the first period. After allowing seven goals in the opening frame, LTU showed resolve over the remaining forty minutes. The Blue Devils broke the shutout early in the second period with a goal from Jordyn Bebus (assisted by Kaitlyn Fitzpatrick and Addy Langton), and Addy Langton later added a final tally in the third period (assisted by Jordyn Bebus). Despite facing a high volume of shots, the LTU goaltending duo of Rachel Hart and Chloe Lemke combined for 42 saves in the effort.

In Saturday's rematch, Lawrence Tech continued to battle, ultimately falling 9-1. The Blue Devils were hampered by Sault's relentless pressure, which resulted in 59 shots on goal for the home team. LTU's bright spot came late in the second period when they successfully converted on the power play, with Kathleen Fennessy netting the team's only goal of the contest, assisted by Jordyn Bebus and Addy Langton. Goaltender Chloe Lemke was outstanding under pressure, turning aside 50 shots throughout the game. Despite the results, the Blue Devils demonstrated resilience and key offensive collaboration between players like Bebus and Langton, who were involved in both LTU goals over the two-game series.

The Blue Devils Womens Hockey team will be back in action on December 6th for their annual Toys for Tots Charity game against the Motor City Riveters in Farmington Hills, Michigan.
