CEADARVILLE, OH. - Lawrence Tech University's Track and Field team, representing both men's and women's divisions, delivered a stellar performance at the Yellow Jacket Collegiate Invite held on March 29, 2025, in Cedarville, Ohio. The event was marked by significant achievements including individual records and impressive rankings at both the conference and national levels.
The meet was a showcase of talent from the Blue Devils, with 12 school records being shattered. Among the notable performances was
Bryce Butler, who threw the discus a commendable 39.92 meters. Bella DeLong also set a new school record in women's discus with a throw of 32.84 meters and contributed another record in the shotput with a distance of 9.93 meters.
Julian Bailey excelled in the triple jump, setting a new benchmark at 12.54 meters.
In the sprint events, Mathews Collins sprinted to the top of the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) with his 100m dash, also achieving second place in the 200m dash at the conference along with ranking 22nd nationally. Latrice Williams was not far behind, securing the third place in women's 100m and fifth in the 200m within the WHAC. The 4x100 relay team, consisting of Williams, Monserrat-Vilar, May, and Adams, highlighted their speed by obtaining the 23rd spot nationally.
Not just on the track, but in the hurdles as well,
Camron Krebs and Aniya Adams made significant impacts. Krebs' time of 55.90 seconds in the 400m hurdles landed him the third overall position and made him the second fastest in school history for the event. Adams notably achieved a top 25 national rank in the NAIA for the same event.
As the Blue Devils look forward to their next challenge at the GVSU Spring Invite in Grand Rapids, MI, on April 4, 2025, they carry with them the momentum of 27 season-best or lifetime best times and marks from Cedarville. The entire team and coaching staff are eager to continue their successful run in the upcoming contests against top-tier opponents.
