SOUTHFIELD, Mich. - The Lawrence Tech University Women's Ice Hockey team, led by the Blue Devils and head coach Alexis Bohlinger, is preparing to kick off their 2025-2026 season. This marks Coach Bohlinger's second year at the helm, following a previous record of 13-8-2 and a 16-10-3 team finish last season. The Blue Devils hope to overcome last year's quarterfinals elimination in the CCWHA Playoffs, edged out narrowly by Aurora with a 3-2 score.
The season opens at the Farmington Hills Ice Arena on September 19, 2025, against Hope College, setting the tone for a rigorous schedule that includes numerous encounters against high-caliber teams like the three time defending national champions, Sault College, Liberty University, and Central Michigan University. Notably, the season features special events such as the Toy's For Tots Charity Game on December 6, adding a philanthropic twist to the competitive season.
Returning players such as senior
Sophia Buckberger, the ACHA Second Team All-American forward, alongside senior
Jordyn Bebus and sophomore
Kalina Pernod, are expected to be cornerstone players, contributing significant offense. Senior
Katelyn Moreland will continue to solidify the defensive line, coming off her CCWHA Second Team All-Conference last year. The team has preserved key talents despite one graduating player, maintaining strong prospects for an accomplished season.
As the Blue Devils skate into another promising season, they will engage in the CCWHA Playoffs in February 2026, hoping to surpass last season's performance. The Lawrence Tech University arena will be bustling with activity, underlining the crucial matches and the team's determination to excel in the competitive landscape.
