Blue Devils Send Deep Squad To NAIA Indoor Track and Field Championships

GAINESVILLE, Fl. - Lawrence Tech University will be well represented on the national stage when the Blue Devils travel to the NAIA Indoor Track and Field Championships, set for March 5–7 in Gainesville, Flordia. Both the women's and men's programs are sending qualifiers across sprints, hurdles and middle-distance relays, giving the team multiple opportunities to score and advance through championship rounds.

On the women's side, sprint speed and hurdling depth headline the Blue Devils' contingent. Sophomore Martina Montserrat-Vilar earned her spot in the 60-meter dash with a qualifying time of 7.64 seconds along with qualifying for the 60m hurdles, positioning her to contend in a typically crowded and fast national field. In the 60-meter hurdles, Lawrence Tech brings a pair of qualifiers: sophomore Latrice Williams, who advanced with an 8.63, and junior Jayde Ullenbrunch who advanced with a 8.77.

The Blue Devils' men's 4x400-meter relay adds another layer of intrigue to the national picture. Freshman Seth Bodary, freshman Edmund Shall, junior Cameron Krebs, and freshman Cobey Cureton combined have a qualifying mark of 3:17.99, showcasing a mix of youth and experience on one of the meet's signature events. With three underclassmen in that pool, the relay not only has upside in this championship but also signals continued strength for Lawrence Tech in the long sprint relay in seasons to come.

With qualifiers in high-impact events on both the track and in the relays, the Blue Devils enter the NAIA Indoor Championships with chances to advance athletes to finals and put points on the board across multiple disciplines. The combination of experienced seniors and emerging underclassmen gives Lawrence Tech a balanced roster built for the three-day grind in Gainesville, as the program looks to convert qualifying marks into All-America finishes on the national stage.

The men's lineup is built around middle-distance strength and relay depth. Senior Griffin Armbrustmacher leads the way individually after qualifying for the 1,000 meters in 2:27.63, a time that puts him in the mix for advancement in one of the meet's most tactical races while also qualifying for the 4x800. Seniors Alec Shaw and Luke Droz, sophomore Graeson Lawrence and junior Arline Lile on a squad that punched its ticket to nationals in 7:39.71. That group gives Lawrence Tech a strong presence in an event often decided by depth, exchanges and late-race positioning. Frankie Swanson also qualified for the 60m and the 200m but will unfortunately not be able to compete due to injury. We wish you luck on the battle ahead!
