Blue Devils fall to (RV) Cornerstone, 5-0

SOUTHFIELD, Mich. - On a dreary, overcast day at Southfield Tennis Courts, Lawrence Tech men's tennis fell 5-0 to (RV) Cornerstone University (Mich.). The Lawrence Tech women's tennis team dropped its match to Cornerstone, 4-2. Due to the weather conditions, both matches were stopped once a team had secured victory. In the women's match that number was four, in the men's match, it was five.

Lawrence Tech (6-4, 1-0 WHAC) men dropped all of its doubles matches, with Vincent Colarossi (FR/Dearborn Heights, MI) and Mason Wenzel (FR/Howell, MI) falling 8-6 at No. 1 doubles. Sergio Lopez (JR/Madrid, Spain) and Javier Alvarez (FR/Santiago de Compostela, Spain) fell 9-7 at No. 2 doubles, while Chad Northey (FR/Livonia, MI) and Jacob Lachowicz (FR/Howell, MI) lost 8-2.

In singles, the men dropped both matches with Wenzel dropping a straight sets match to Santiago Mackrey, 6-1, 6-0. Lachowicz fell at No. 6 singles, 6-0, 6-3 with the remainder of the matches not finishing due to Cornerstone reaching the necessary five points to win the match.

On the women's side, Carolyn McCullen won 6-1, 6-0 at No. 1 singles, while Rachel Porter grabbed a point at No. 5 singles with a 6-1, 6-3 win over Nicole Huizenga.

Lawrence Tech head to Grand Rapids, Mich., on Wednesday, March 25 to face Davenport University (Mich.) at 6 p.m.
