LTU falls to Davenport in WHAC Quarterfinals, 5-0

KENTWOOD, Mich. - The Lawrence Tech men's tennis team fell 5-0 to Davenport University (Mich.) in the quarterfinals of the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference Tournament hosted by Cornerstone University (Mich.).

Lawrence Tech dropped all three doubles matches to the Panthers, including a hard fought 8-6 loss by Sergio Lopez (JR/Madrid, Spain) and Javier Alvarez (FR/Santiago de Compostela, Spain) at No. 1 doubles. At No. 2 doubles, Vincent Colarossi (FR/Dearborn Heights, MI) and Mason Wenzel (FR/Howell, MI) fell 8-1, while Chad Northey (FR/Livonia, MI) and Jacob Lachowicz (FR/Howell, MI) dropped their match at No. 3 doubles, 8-3.

In singles action, Northey lost to Matthew Boyle at No. 5 singles, 6-3, 6-0. At No. 6 singles, Lachowicz dropped his match 6-2, 6-0 to give the Panthers a 5-0 win over the Blue Devils. The remaining four matches were left unfinished as Davenport secured the matcn winning fifth point.

Lawrence Tech finishes their inaugural season with a 7-9 regular season record, including a 0-5 record against conference opponents.
