SOUTHFIELD, Mich. - The Lawrence Technological (Mich.) University men's tennis team rolled Lake Superior State (Mich.) University 7-2 on Saturday evening at the Franklin Athletic Club.
Lawrence Tech (7-2) took the doubles flights, 2-1 with wins at No. 1 and No. 3 doubles. Juan Bermudez and Javier Alvarez won 8-5 at No. 1 doubles while Vincent Colarossi and Stijn Bremer won 8-4 at third doubles. Jan Horstkoetter and Mason Wenzel fell at No. 2 doubles 8-4.
In singles competition, Bermudez won at first singles and Alvarez scored a victory at No. 2 singles 6-0, 7-5. At third singles, Horstkoetter fell to Joe Gilman while Robert Saitov recorded a 6-2, 6-4 win at No. 4 singles and Mason Wenzel trumped Mateus Fonai at fifth singles 6-2, 7-5. Bremer eased past Pete Summers 6-0, 6-4 at sixth singles to seal the match 7-2.
The Blue Devils return to the court on February 25 as they host Grace (Ind.) College at the Franklin Athletic Club. First serve is set for 5:00 P.M.
