SOUTHFIELD, Mich. - Lawrence Technological (Mich.) University softball heads to northern Kentucky this weekend to participate in double-headers with Cincinnati Christian (Ohio) University on Feb. 25 beginning at 1:30 pm and (RV) Georgetown (Ky.) College on Feb. 26 at 12:00 pm.

Lawrence Tech (1-3) opened 2017 at the Martin Methodist Meltdown in Pulaski, Tennessee earning the first win in program history, defeating Georgetown 5-1. They finished the weekend 1-3, falling 0-8 to Grace (Ind.) College, 0-1 to Saint Joseph's College and 1-3 to #14 Martin Methodist.
Bailey Brown paces the Blue Devils with five hits and three runs through 11 at bats for a .455 hitting percentage. Alina Molette follows her with a .364 batting %, producing four hits and three runs while Brooke Dillon has driven in four RBI's.
Alexa Cherney has been on the mound for LTU facing 77 batters, allowing 11 runs while recording 14 strikeouts and an ERA of 4.53.
Scouting Cincinnati Christian
CCU got the season started in Pippa Passes, Kentucky with two uncontested wins over Alice Lloyd College on February 17. The Eagles won the first game 14-1 in five innings and the second 9-0 also in five innings.
Bailey Blair leads Cincinnati Christian with four runs, including two doubles, one homerun and six RBI's through two games. Kelsey Warman has produced some big at-bats for the Eagles, earning four hits, including two triples and four RBI's.
Courtney Garrett and Jessica Tinsley have both recorded one win apiece on the mound for CCU. Garrett has allowed four hits while tallying eight strikeouts. Tinsley threw a shutout on Feb. 17, giving up only one hit while striking out five batters.
Looking at Georgetown
GC is 7-3 so far this season, recently recoding a 10-2 and 5-2 win over Union (N.Y.) College on Feb. 22. As a team, Georgetown has put together 69 runs on 93 hits, including 16 doubles, five triples and four homeruns with a .480 slugging percentage.
The Tigers are led by Katie Young with 11 runs on 13 hits, Kara Howard with 10 runs on 12 hits and Corrin Robinson recording 10 run on nine hits.
Audrey Dodd is the top performer on the mound, recording four wins and two losses with 13 strikeouts through 23.1 innings pitched.
