HILTON HEAD, ISLAND, S.C. - The Lawrence Technological (Mich.) University men's tennis team finished day three of their spring break trip to the 2017 PTR Spring TennisFest in Hilton Head with a 6-3 win over Point (Ga.) University.
Duo Javier Alvarez and Juan Bermudez dropped their match at No. 1 doubles, falling 9-8, 8-4 tiebreak, while Jan Horstkoetter and Mason Wenzel fell at second doubles 8-3. Vincent Colarossi and Stijn Bremer recorded the only doubles win for LTU, beating out their competition 8-1.
Point claimed one more win at first singles over Bermudez, but were unable to earn another win the rest of the match. Alvarez sailed to a 6-4, 6-2 victory at second singes while Robert Saitov recorded a win at No. 3 singles. Horstkoetter netted a 6-4, 6-0 win at No. 4 singles while Bremer had no trouble at fifth singles, winning 6-1, 6-3. Chad Northey finisihed with a win at sixth singles for the Blue Devils.
LTU is back on the courts tomorrow for a matchup with (RV) Asbury University.
