ALMA, Mich. - The Lawrence Technological (Mich.) University men's tennis team rolled Alma (Mich.) College this morning, winning 8-1.
In doubles competition, Stijn Bremer and Juan Bermudez defeated Damien Arthur and Luke Van Fleet at first doubles while Jan Horstkoetter and Mason Wenzel captured an 8-6 win over Grant Hill and Noah Ackerman at second doubles. At No. 3 doubles, Vincent Colarossi and Chad Northey cruised past Evan Vergith and Tristen Fox 8-3.
In singles play, Bermudez got things started with a 6-4, 6-5 win over Hill at first singles. Colarossi suffered the lone loss to Van Fleet at second singles while Robert Saitov rolled Jon Groening 6-2, 6-5 at third singles. At No. 4 singles, Horstkoetter beat Vergith 6-4, 6-1 and Bremer outplayed Ackerman 6-4, 6-2 at fifth singles. Wenzel wrapped things up with a 6-4, 6-0 win at sixth singles over Arthur.
The Blue Devils now move on to open conference play with Indiana Tech on March 22 at the Southfield Tennis Courts. First serve is set for 11:00 A.M.
