SOUTHFIELD, Mich. - The Lawrence Technological (Mich.) University men's tennis team overpowered Indiana Tech 7-2 in their WHAC opener this afternoon in Southfield, Michigan.
Juan Bermudez and Javier Alvarez provided an 8-6 win at first doubles over Sousa and Oscot while Jan Horstkoetter and Mason Wenzel notched an 8-1 win at second doubles. Vincent Colarossi and Stijn Bremer completed the doubles sweep with an 8-2 win at No. 3 doubles.
After a 6-2 loss at first singles, Bermudez battled back to take the win 6-2, 6-3. Alvarez followed with a three set win at No. 2 singles over Aguirre while Robert Saitov recorded a 6-1, 6-1 win at No. 3 singles. Horstkoetter fell at fourth singles 6-1, 6-1 and despite his effort, Bremer dropped his match at fifth singles to Lima. Wenzel wrapped up the night with a win at sixth singles over De Leon.
Lawrence Tech now moves to 14-3 on the season and will continue WHAC play with (17) Aquinas (Mich.) College on March 31. First serve is set for 4:00 P.M.
