Lawrence Tech Off to Rochester for Doubleheader this Afternoon

SOUTHFIELD, Mich. - The Lawrence Technological (Mich.) University softball team travels to Rochester Hills this afternoon for a pair of games with Rochester College. First pitch is set for 2:00 PM.

LAST TIME OUT

Lawrence Tech (12-22, 2-8 WHAC) enters this contest after dropping eight consecutive games. They recently went head-to-head with Concordia (Mich.) University, falling in both games. Despite a Blue Devils 5-run scoring spree in the bottom of the seventh during game one, the Cardinals held on to take the game 8-7.

Brooke Dillon brought in three RBI's on her two hits while recording two runs. Sydney Schultz and Alexa Cherney split time on the mound. Schultz tallied one strikeout, one walk and five runs on eight hits. Cherney struck out five while walking four and allowing three runs on three hits.

Concordia jumped out to a 2-0 lead in game two before Lawrence Tech tied it at 2-2. The Cardinals reclaimed their lead and went on to finish the game 5-3.

Meredith Adams went 2-for-3 at the plate, recording a team best two RBI's and two runs. On the mound, Brittney Bult finished with one strikeout, one walk and five runs on 10 hits.

SCOUTING THE WARRIORS

Rochester has fallen in six of their last seven contests, including a brace against No. 7 Davenport (Mich.) University on April 8, dropping their overall record to 5-19. The Warriors fell in game one 17-0 to the Panthers, earning only one hit. Natalie Rosenau started pitching for RC but after nine hits and ten runs was replaced by Brooke Snyder who finished with 10 hits and seven runs.

Game two was a 9-0 loss. Chander Hill and Jenna Dominek notched the only two hits of the game for Rochester.

As a team, the Warriors have collected 147 hits, 17 doubles, two triples, six homeruns and 59 RBI's. Their overall batting average is 0.260, allowing their opponents a 0.410 average while averaging a 0.289 on-base percentage.
