LTU Squares Up With Siena Heights in WHAC Doubleheader This Afternoon

SOUTHFIELD, Mich. - The Lawrence Technological (Mich.) University softball team travels to Adrian, Michigan this weekend for a doubleheader with (RV) Siena Heights University. First pitch of game one is set for 1:00 PM.

LAST TIME OUT

Lawrence Tech (14-22, 2-8 WHAC) snapped an eight game losing streak with two big wins over Rochester College on April 12 in Rochester Hills, Michigan. The Blue Devils won game one 7-0 in five innings, led by Hanna Ruddock and Brittney Bult who both finished with two runs, two hits and two RBI's each. Bult earned her first home run of the season while Cherilyn Banas recorded a team-best three RBI's on her homerun.

Bult recorded three strikeouts, one walked batter and five hits while on the mound for Lawrence Tech.

Game two was an even more dominate win as LTU swept the Warriors 10-0, also in five innings. Mary Armstrong tallied a team-high two runs from her bottom of the seventh homerun that scored Dana Bigham. Bigham, Armstrong and Genna Skalski finished with two hits apiece to lead the team.

Alexa Cherney was on the mound for LTU, allowing only four hits with two walked batters and 14 strikeouts.

SCOUTING THE SAINTS

Siena Heights has posted a 22-10-1 overall record this season, recently splitting games with Concordia (Mich.) University to bring their WHAC record to 7-6-1. In game one, SHU fell 6-4. They were led by a quartet of Saints with two hits apiece, including Megan Jones, Hannah Bleikamp, Lexi Agers and Hailey Fox. Lesley Ducat started on the mound for Siena Heights, but after allowing six runs on eight hits was replaced by Kayla Kormos who finished with four hits.

In game two, the Saints ended a five game losing streak with a 4-3 win over the Cardinals. Kenya Keller recorded a team-best two hits and two RBI's in her four at-bats. Lindsay Brandon was on the mound for SHU, tallying four strikeouts while allowing three runs on six hits.

Kyndle Wolfinger leads Siena Heights with a 0.450 batting average, totaling 45 hits on the season while stealing a team best 13 bases. Kenya Keller has recorded 32 RBI's, 1.03 average, best on the team. Lesley Ducat has an ERA of 2.41 while on the mound and Kayla Kormos is averaging a team-high 5.38 strikeouts, totaling 31.

The Saints have earned 205 runs, 304 hits, 58 doubles, 11 triples, nine homeruns and 178 RBI's. They have a 0.328 batting average and an on-base percentage of 0.371.
