Lawrence Tech Defeats John Carroll University 6-1

UNIVERSITY HEIGHTS, Ohio- The Lawrence Technological University (Mich.) men's tennis team defeated John Carroll University (Ohio) with a score of 6-1. This result sets the all-time series 1-0, and gives the Blue Devils a 3-1 record so far this season.

The Blue Devils won two doubles flights and lost one. At court-one doubles, Alex Fernandez-Rajal (FR/Barcelona, Spain) and Alexander Tammaro (FR/Caracas, Venezuela) won 9-7 against David Sinense and Andy Siciliano.  Doubles pair Robert Saitov (JR/Ufa, Bashkortostan Republic, Russia) and Lukas Obel (FR/Weybridge, England) won 9-8 against Adi Jha and Parker Holynat court-two after defeating them 11-9 on the tie-break game. At court-three doubles, Alejo TIntore-Godall (FR/Barcelona, Spain) and Viktor Kolesnychenko (FR/Lviv, Ukraine) lost 8-5 against Doug Moore and Andrew Triner.

The Blue Devils won the four singles flights that were played. Tammaro won his match against Sinense at court-one singles with a score of 6-1 and 6-0. Tintore-Godall defeated Triner with a score of 6-3 and 6-2 in four-singles. Kolesnychenko won his match against Jack Payne at court-five singles with a score of 6-4 and 6-2. Obel won the six-singles match against Sean Padden in two sets, 6-0 and 6-3. Saitov and Fernandez-Rajal did not finish their singles flights.

The Blue Devils will return to the courts on October 6 at the University of Northwestern Ohio (Ohio) Tournament in Lima, Ohio.
