HILTON HEAD ISLAND, S.C.- The (RV) Lawrence Technological (Mich.) University men's team fell 6-3 to (RV) Georgetown (Ky.) College at the PTR Spring Tennisfest on Tuesday, March 12 at the VanderMeer Tennis Center in Hilton Head Island.
Georgetown (3-5, 0-0) came out of doubles action leading 2-1. First flight of Alexander Tammaro (FR/Caracas, Venezuela) and Alex Fernandez-Rajal (FR/Barcelona, Spain) picked up Lawrence Tech's (7-6, 1-1) lone doubles victory of 8-6 against Ryo Takeda and Philipp Hoeper. The duo of Robert Saitov (JR/Ufa, Bashkortostan Republic Ru) and Lukas Obel (FR/Weybridge, England) fell 8-6 to Cole Wilson and Hunter Nosek at second flight, while Viktor Kolesnychenko (FR/Lviv, Ukraine) and Alejo Godall-Tintore (FR/Barcelona, Spain) dropped court-three, 8-3, to Cole McCreary and Josh Pinuti.
In singles action, Saitov (7-6(3), 6-2) and Godall-Tintore (6-4, 6-4) notched victories in courts-two and six against Hoeper and Nosek, respectively. Tammaro dropped a 7-6(5), 6-4 decision to Takeda, while Fernandez-Rajal fell 6-3, 6-1 to Wilson at court-three. Kolesnychenko lost 6-2, 7-6(3) at fourth flight. At court-five, Obel fell for a double 6-1 to McCreary.
The Blue Devils will return to the court on Wednesday, March 13 at 12:30 p.m. against Gettysburg (Pa.) College in Hilton Head Island, S.C. at Chaplin Park.
