Lawrence Tech Falls to Indiana Tech, 6-3

SOUTHFIELD, Mich.– The (RV) Lawrence Technological (Mich.) University men's team fell 6-3 to Indiana Tech in Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference action on Wednesday, March 6 at the Franklin Athletic Club. 

Lawrence Tech took an early lead after winning a pair of doubles flights. At court-one, Alexander Tammaro (FR/Caracas, Venezuela) and Alex Fernandez-Rajal (FR/Barcelona, Spain) defeated Alvaro Garrido and Rui Lima, 8-6. At second flight, Robert Saitov (JR/Ufa, Bashkortostan Republic Ru) and Lukas Obel (FR/Weybridge, England) won their set against Tiago Neves and Brunno Storani, 8-4. Alejo Godall-Tintore (FR/Barcelona, Spain) and Viktor Kolesnychenko (FR/Lviv, Ukraine) fell, 8-2, against Alvaro Gomez and Andres Leal at third flight.

The Warriors built a comeback on singles, winning five and dropping one, to take the win. Tammaro notched the lone Blue Devil victory after defeating Neves, 6-1, 6-0, at court-one. Saitov fell with a double 6-1 to Storani at second flight, while Fernandez-Rajal dropped third flight against Leal with 7-5, 6-2 sets. Obel lost at court-five to Lima, 7-5, 6-2. Godall-Tintore lost at sixth flight against Pablo Bono, 6-3, 6-1.

The Blue Devils will return to the court on Monday, March 11 at 5:30 p.m. when they face off with Berry (Ga.) College at the PTR Spring Tennisfest in Hilton Head Island, S.C.
